During the month of March, the number of children, youth and adults not attending schools or universities because of COVID-19 grew from 17% to 80% of all enrolled learners around the globe, impacting over 1.3 billion students (UNESCO). 138 countries have enacted nationwide school closures and, in the US, 46 states have decided to close schools (EdWeek).
